Backup Manager – Build 14.0.14155  Release Dates – June 03, 2014 via Web Download & June 17, 2014 via Auto Update     We are pleased to announce our version 14 release of our hybrid-cloud backup and disaster recovery solution.  In this release you will find a completely redesigned HTML-based Backup Manager designed to improve customer usability and partner manageability.  In addition you will see several significant enhancements made to improve backup and restore performance and scale-ability.This release includes:

  • A new HTML-based Backup Manager which delivers:
  • Enhanced responsiveness and improved user experience
  • A seamlessly upgrade from a legacy 13.x Backup Manager
  • Support across Windows, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems
  • Launches directly into your default browser with support for Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox and Chrome
  • An Overview section with backup and restore history displayed in an intuitive, color-coded calendar view
  • A smart Backup section which attempts to detect and display only what applications and data sources are running and in need of protection
  • A consolidated Restore section that clearly shows what has been protected and the available recovery options
  •  New Backup Coach technology which proactively monitors backup jobs, learns about common issues and communicates recommended steps to resolve them
  •  Multi-threaded Restores which provide improved recovery time by using available system resources to perform parallel processing of restore operations 
  •  EZ VMware Restores remove manual configuration steps and automate the recovery of VMware virtual machines back to their original or alternate VMware host.
  •  Skip File Processing technology which can greatly reduce the processing time required during routine restores of most data sources
  •  Alternate Backup Credentials can be set within the Backup Manager to improve backup success rates and resiliency 
  •  EFI Bios and GPT partitions are now supported with our Bare Metal Recovery and Virtual Disaster Recovery technologies, greatly expanding the number of "modern" systems we can support
  •  LocalSpeedVault support has added to our Virtual Disaster Recovery tool, allowing for greater restore speed.

Cloud Management Console –  Build 14.0.14155   Release Dates – June 03, 2014. This release includes numerous enhancements to the Cloud Management Console to support the updated Backup Manager as to improve usability, manageability  and scale-ability including:

  •  Remote Client Discovery and Deployment allows partners to automate client discovery and deploy the Backup Manager within their end customer’s remote network with just a few clicks. This helps our partners keep management costs down while ensuring that newly deployed systems don’t go unprotected
  •  Improved responsiveness when launching a remote version 14.x Backup Manager from the CMC
  •  A graphical Custom Branding console with preview function that allows partners to quickly and easily add their personality and brand to the Backup Manager
